 Past Continuous Tense

The past continuous tense is used to talk about actions in progress around a particular time in the past.

·        In 1985, we were living in Canada.

·        At 9.15, Sarah was playing cards.

·        The sun was shining at 10 o’clock.

       Examples

  1. I was studying yesterday.
  2. They were eating at the restaurant.
  3. Sophia was laughing at Steve’s jokes.
  4. Children were drinking coffee.
  5. Ann was studying while his mother was making dinner.
  6. It was raining heavily last night.
  7. Last Friday, he was going to the playground.
